Description
The Arabian Horse Families of Egypt
by Colin Pearson with Kees Mol
Confused by strains and Arabian families? This 1988 book, which is in very good condition, gives these families in table form, segregated by male and female. The pictures alone, many dating into the late 1800’s are worth the price of the book. Good breeders with access to this kind information can really take the guesswork out of breeding by choosing horses strong in the characteristics they want to breed for, which is how the desert tribes did it. They put an emphasis on the female lines and bred so efficiently for certain traits than the horses of the various tribes showed different characteristics, hence the evolution of the strains.
