Description
Drinkers of the Wind
by
Carl Raswan
This is an engrossing story about a young man’s quest to find the Arabian horse of his childhood dreams. His search, which begins in Europe, takes him to Egypt and eventually to the desert confines of the Ruala tribe, where he established friendships that endured throughout the remainder of his life. He relates his singular experiences living under their tattered black goat-hair tents and amidst their herds of livestock with an uncommon grace. His adventures and involvement with the desert bred horse are a pivotal part of the story. The descriptions of his life, the migrating tribesmen, surrounded by striking desolate panoramas are executed with an enviable simplicity.
This 1942 book is showing its age a bit in the yellowing pages but is in very good condition as is the dust jacket. A timeless story for every age.
